Sharon Black
Sharon Kay Black, 68, of Spring Creek, Pa., died on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Warren Manor, Warren, Pa.
She was born on December 15, 1947, in Corry, Pa., a daughter of the late Harold and Bonneta Watrous Messenger.
Sharon was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry High School in 1967. She then raised and cared for her family. Over the years, she worked various jobs, including owning and operating Sharon’s Place, a ceramic shop in Spring Creek. For the past 18 years, she was a mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service.
She attended Berea Lutheran Church in Pittsfield. Sharon was an avid 4H leader, loved horses and her boxer, Sadie.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Larry and Gary Messenger and brother, Harold “Hal” Messenger, Jr.
Sharon is survived by her twin daughters, Tracey Sally and her husband Michael of Coraopolis, Pa., and Carey Diehl and her husband Ken of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and two sons, Shawn Black and his wife Josette and Jason Black and his fiance Stacey Frederoski, all of Spring Creek, Pa.
She is also survived by a sister, Denise Messenger of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother Kevin Messenger and his wife Debbie of Corry, Pa.; and by one niece and one nephew.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church, 210 Jamestown St., Sugar Grove, Pa., on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Rev. Billy Hughes will officiate.
Burial will be held privately by her family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
