Robert Johnson

Robert W. Johnson, 90, of Warren, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Cambridge Warren of Warren, PA. He was born July 3, 1925 in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Thomas W. and the late Anna (O’Connor) Johnson.

A lifelong Warren resident, and 1943 graduate of Warren High School. He served in the US Navy during WW II as a Gunners Mate, and later served in the Pennsylvania National Guard as a Master Sgt.

Robert Worked at GTE Sylvania for thirty five years, from which he retired as a Molder. He was a longtime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, as more recently attended the Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, and especially his family.

He loved to walk to work, to Shur Fine, to the barber shop, and near everywhere in Warren.

He is survived by two daughters, Crissanda (Jim) Akers, Denise (Bill) Winslow; and one son, Matt Johnson, all of Warren, PA; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on February 14, 2005, by his wife, Lillith Lacey Johnson, and by an infant daughter, Alysse, on May 3, 1961.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, First Lutheran Church, officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Warren. Family suggest memorial contributions made to Warren Public Library, or Hospice of Warren County.

Robert Johnson

Robert Franklin Johnson, 86, of Pittsfield, passed away on March 16, 2016 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.

He was born May 2, 1929 in Sheffield, a son to the late Carl and Lucille Elizabeth Fitzgerald Johnson. He grew up in Stoneham and lived most of his life in Youngsville. He was the widower of Alyce Shirley Lauffenbuger Johnson, whom he married on January 28, 1950. Robert worked as Foreman at Betts Machine, retiring from there in 1991 after 32 years. He had also worked on oil leases, the National Forge, Walters Hardware and WalkersCreamery. He operated Johnson’s Gun Shop and had served as a part time police officer for Youngsville. He was a member of Family Motor Coach Assoc., and a life member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising Weimaraner dogs.

He is survived by his children; Mrs. Terry (Bruce) Cummings of Russell, Lou Ann Johnson of Silver City, N.M., Mrs. Susan (Charles) Miranda of Williamsburg, N.M., Dan (Mary) Johnson of Gladston, N.C. and Dale (Kellie) Johnson of Youngsville, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Darrell and Bruce Johnson and 2 sisters; Bernice Jordan and Beverly Crossley.

Per the request of Robert, no services will be held.
