Doris Lindell
Doris H. Lindell, 87, of 174 Main St., Tidioute, passed away Sunday October 25, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie.
Doris was born March 13, 1928 in Warren, Pa., a daughter to the late Keith Wolford and Dorothy Parker Wolford Martin. She started working at Norton’s Saw Mill and then went to Blair for many years, retiring from there. After retirement, she went to work for the Allegheny National Forest Service where she worked at the Visitors Center. She enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Kate Proper ofTidioute and Judy Schreckengost of Warren, her siblings, John Martin of Wyoming, JoAnn Ramsey of Washington, Nancy Stewart, Dan Martin and Frank Martin, all of PA, her grandchildren, Matt Proper and his companion Melinda Brown, Andy Proper, Jill Malmgren and Eric Schreckengost, and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Sonny” Lindell, who passed away in December of 1978, a daughter, Glenna Gutjen, her siblings, Keith Wolford, Jim Wolford, Susie Auflick, Marjorie Maloe, and Betsy Litzinger.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Swedish Union Cemetery in Tidioute with the Rev. Ralph Culp, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Tidioute Vol. Fire Dept. 228 Main St. Tidioute, Pa. 16351. The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville have been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at nelsonfuneralhome.net.
