Charles Booth

Charles “Chuck” H. Booth, 80, of Couvers Crossing Road, Pittsfield, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born October 11, 1934 in Painesville, Ohio, a son to the late Russell and Cecelia (Czerr) Booth. Chuck worked as a construction laborer, truck driver, he was the labor supervisor at the nuclear plant in Perry, OH and worked and retired from the Rouse Home where he was the head of maintenance and the director of environmentals. He was a member of the Ohio Laborers Union # 310 and the Pennsylvania’s Laborers Union.

Chuck was known for making people happy. He was an excellent singer and dancer. When he sang, he enjoyed singing Kenney Rodgers, who he sounded so much like. Chuck was a very active outdoorsman. He enjoyed building things, hunting, fishing, telling stories, campfires, golfing, and playing cards. Chuck loved his farm and animals, helping the Amish Community and mowing his lawn. Ohio State was his favorite college football team and when they were not playing, he was rooting for Penn State. He liked spending time at auctions with his good friend, Russ Flasher. He enjoyed watching American Pickers, Pawn Stars and the History Channel. Chuck was known by all his friends as the “Mayor” of Couvers Crossing. One of the greatest joys Chuck had was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He had a contagious smile and laugh, Chuck will be missed by many.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Marnee”(Voegele) Booth whom he married in Akley, Pa. on September 18, 1998. He is also survived by his children, Charles “Chip”(Linda) Booth of Ft. Myers, FL, Judith Ann (Mike) Snitcher of Ashtabula OH, and Kelee (George) Ryder of Ashtabula Harbor, OH; 2 stepsons, Matt (Erica) Allyn of Corry and Jed Allyn; a daughterinlaw, Gayle Booth of Madison, OH; his siblings, Catherine Keilholtz of Madison, OH, Edwin (Joanne) Booth of Amury,MS, William (Judy) Booth of Ashtabula, OH and Robert “Bobbie” (Laurie) Booth of Madison, OH; 11 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his close friend, Ruben Yoder of Sugar Grove.

In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded by his son, Richard Booth, a grandson, Charles Booth, 5 brothers, Eugene, Russell Jr.,Harold “Yogi”, Fred and Gurn Booth and 1 sister, Mary Jane Davis.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
