Sandra Frederick

A memorial service for Sandra Frederick, who died on Friday, February 20, was held at the Covenant United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 24. Rev. Erica Wellner, pastor, officiated. The Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.

Sandra J. “Sandy”

Frederick, 78, of Warren,

PA, passed away on Friday,

February 20, 2015, at the

John & Orpha Blair Hos-

pice House. Sandy was

born October 26, 1936, in

Warren, PA. She is the

daughter of the late Antho-

ny J. and Vira (Walter) Li-

castro

Sandy was a 1954 gra-

duate of Hickory High

School. After graduation,

she attended business

school and worked in Pitts-

burgh for several years be-

fore returning to the Warren

area. She spent the next for-

ty five years employed as a

legal secretary, retiring in

2004.

She was a long-time

member of the Warren

Chapter No. 56 Order of the

Eastern Star and served as

Matron and District Depu-

ty.

Sandy was charter

member of the Kiwanis

Club of Kinzua Allegheny,

serving as secretary for

twenty years, and was also

an auxiliary member of the

Eagle’s Club. A member of

the former Epworth United

Church, she served as

financial secretary for

twenty years. She was also

active in United Methodist

Women and served on vari-

ous committees. She most

recently attended Covenant

United Methodist Church

since the church

transferred. Her church

meant a lot to her.

Sandy is survived by

one daughter, Vickie Ferrie,

and husband, Tim, of

Russell, PA, and one son,

Leroy Frederick of Buffalo,

NY; three beloved grand-

sons, Alex Ferrie, and wife,

Katie, Jonathan Ferrie, and

wife, Stephanie, and John

Rickert, and fiancee, Stevi.

She also has three

great-grandchildren, Eli

Rickert, Haley Ferrie, and

Madelin Ferrie.

In addition to her

parents, she was preceded

in death on October 16,

1989, by her husband,

Donald R. Frederick; a

daughter, Linda Ann, and

two sisters, Toni Ann

Hunter, and Susan L. Scott.

She was also preceded in

death by her second hus-

band, Jack Hammerbeck.

Friends will be received

at the Peterson-Blick Fun-

eral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn.

Ave. E., Warren, on Mon-

day, February 23, from 5 to

8 p.m., and at the Covenant

United Methodist Church,

1624 Penn. Ave. E., War-

ren, on Tuesday, February

24, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.,

at which time, a service will

be held there, with Rev. Er-

ica Wellner, pastor, officiat-

ing.

In lieu of flowers, the

family suggests memorials

be made to Hospice of War-

ren County, 1 Main Ave.,

Warren, PA 16365, or a

charity of choice.
