Earl Yerkey

Earl H. Yerkey, 74, of Spetz Hill Rd., Pittsfield, passed away Friday Oc-tober 24, 2014 at the War-ren General Hospital.

He was born May 25, 1940 in Erie, Pa., a son to the late Charles and Eva (Brown) Yerkey. Earl was employed as a Union roofer and sheet metal worker for a number of years with Feh-line in Erie, Pa. He served in the US Navy as a Seabee during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a former member of the VFW in Erie. He loved to hunt and ice fish and enjoyed tinkering, building, and creating things.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Sutherland Yerkey, whom he married on March 21, 1970 in Erie, and a daughter Debbie Yerkey of Erie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Yerkey.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
