Rebecca Stone

A funeral service for Rebecca Stone, who died July 12, was held at the First United Methodist Church on July 17. Rev. Mark Hecht, pastor, and Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, officiated. Serving as pallbearers at Stillson Cemetery were Nick and Nate Lynstrom, Kenny and Spencer Rowland, Brian Donnell, John Gourley and Alan Abraham. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy and Rodney R. Rowland. The Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.

Friends will be received today, Thursday, July 17, in the parlors at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time, a funeral service will be held in the sanctuary.

Rebecca “Becky” D. Stone, 63, of Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. Rebecca was born January 14, 1951 in Warren, PA. She is the daughter of the late William and Autumn (Woodin) Saunders.

Becky grew up in Sugar Grove and was a 1968 graduate of Eisenhower High School and a 1969 graduate of Penn Beauty School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren and (DAR) Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as an officer. Becky was a cancer survivor for many years, and was actively involved in programs related to helping other cancer patients.

In her earlier years, she worked at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA, as a beautician. Currently, she was working at VanCise Electrology and Hair in Warren, which she really enjoyed. Becky devoted a lot of her time to her grandchildren whom were very special to her. She enjoyed participating in all of their school functions and outings. She loved to sit and laugh with her grandchildren. Becky was very talented quilter and at times gave instructional classes to adults and children; she always looked forward to attending sewing retreats. She enjoyed having family picnics, hosting her card club and just being around her family. Becky was a very loving person that had many, many close friends. Becky and her late husband enjoyed traveling, and had traveled extensively to many countries around the world. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her little dogs, “Millie” and “Hannah”.

Becky is survived by her three children; Jody Rowland, of Warren, PA, Rodney Rowland, and wife, Lacey, of Pittsfield, PA and Dawn Lindstrom, of Spring Creek, PA; thirteen grandchildren, Sara, Kenny, Jimmy, Rodney, Spencer and Laynah Rowland, Alisha, Chelsey, Nikkia, Allyson, Daisy, Nicholas and Nathan Lindstrom; seven greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2010 in death by her husband, Gary D. Stone, whom she married in 1996; a sister, Anne Gourley and a brother, William Saunders.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Avenue E., Warren, PA on Wednesday, July 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., and in the parlors at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, on Thursday, July 17, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mark Hecht, pastor, and Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain of the Rouse Home, coofficiating. Burial will be private at Stillson Hill Cemetery, Sugar Grove, PA.
