DONALD BRANSTROM

He is survived by his wife, Martha Sherman Winters Branstrom of Port Hueneme, California and children, Candi Seaton (Doyle) of Plains, Texas, Darlene Chirman (Sam) of Santa Barbara and Portland, Oregon, Donna Branstrom (Bill Calkins) of Oxnard, California; grandchildren Shan Seaton, Brad Seaton (Amber) and Sarah Chirman Murray (Jake); great- grandchildren Diana Sea-ton, Jonas Murray, and Ki-ley Seaton. Brothers Robert (Doris), Walter (Rita), Lynn (Candy), and Craig (Cry-stal); Sisters Mary Randi-nelli (John), and Janice Odrzywolski (Jim); step-children, Cheryl (Neil), Marla (Arpana), Randall (Janie) and Robert (Kathy) Winters; step-grandchil- dren Christopher, Chelsea, Michelle, Sherman, Kayla, Robert Jonathan and Kelly; and many nieces ,nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, of 48 years, Phyllis Lindell Bran-strom in 1994, by grandson Burke Seaton in 1971, and by son, Paul Edwin Bran-strom in 2000.

Mr. Branstrom was edu-cated through high school in Russell, PA, Yale University, University of Michigan (BS Engineer-ing), Pepperdine University (MBA) and numerous schools in California, Washington, Ohio and the District of Columbia.

He was a member of Russell, PA Boy Scout Troop 14, achieving rank of Eagle Scout with Palm.

Serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he was awarded: the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster for wounds received during the Battle of the Bulge; the Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge; the Presidential Unit Citation; and various other awards.

Don’s professional career included: The Boe-ing Company, Seattle, Washington, General Elec-tric Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, United Technology, Sunnyvale, California and Washington, D.C., Ford Aerospace, Newport Beach, California and the U.S. Na-val Engineering Station, Port Hueneme, California. He also taught Business Administration at Oxnard and Ventura Colleges and was adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at California Polytechnic University, at San Luis Obispo, California.

Since retiring in 1985, his travels have included Europe, the Caribbean. the South Pacific, Mexico, Ca-nada and the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.

He was formerly active in Westminster Presbyteri-an Church in Port Hueneme and the Oxnard-Joselyn Lawn Bowls Club and the Milestone Car Club.

His family would like to commend his caregivers for the outstanding help ren-dered by: Richard Filipi-nas, Ed Rodriguez, Derick Ferrer and Felix Lung.

Cremains are to be com-mitted to the Pacific Ocean by the Navy Yacht Club Channel Islands and the Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA where there will be a committal ceremony at a later date.
