LOVERINE CHITTESTER

A funeral service for Loverine J. Chittester, who died on Feb. 2, was held at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday. The Rev. Ellie Johns Kelley, pastor, First Presbyterian Church, officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Patrick Walters, Jason Walters, Ryan Chittester, John Slaney, Jr., and Mark Slaney. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was David Slaney.

Burial followed at Warren County Memorial Park.

Loverine J. Chittester, 95, of 701 Rouse Ave., Youngsville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Warren General Hospital.

Loverine was born April 24, 1917, in Belington, WV, the daughter of the late Charles and Ollie Finley Jones. She was a graduate of AldersonBroadus College in Philippi, WV and then she became a teacher and taught in two oneroom school houses in West Virginia. She also worked as a substitute school teacher in Warren County Elementary Schools for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Presbyterian Women’s Circle. She loved music, art and reading. Above all else, Loverine truly loved her family.

She is survived by her three children, James Chittester, and wife, Dianna, DuBois, Pa., Nancy Walters, and husband, Patrick, Pittsfield, Pa. and Sylvia Slaney, and husband, John, Warren, Pa.; two brothers, Loring Jones, Pipestem, WV and Elson Jones, Fairmount, WV; five grandchildren, Julie, Ryan, David, Mark and Jason; three greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on July 26, 1992, by her husband, Robert F. Chittester, whom she married December 26, 1940 in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Wednesday, February 6, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with The Rev. Ellie JohnsKelley, pastor, First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Warren County Memorial Park.
