A growing need is being spotlighted in an annual food drive.

Northwest Bank is once again sponsoring the Erie News Now Food Drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania, an annual event dedicated to alleviating hunger and supporting families in need. The food drive will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with donation sites throughout the region.

Community members are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items, frozen turkeys or monetary contributions at participating locations. Donations can be made without leaving your vehicle, and all food donations collected at each location will remain in the community where they were collected.

Northwest Bank will host donation stations at nine of its financial centers in the Northwest region, including Erie/Millcreek, Edinboro, Warren, Corry, Kane, Smethport, Bradford Main, Bradford Foster Brook and Titusville.

In Warren people can drop off donations at 301 Second Ave.

"As a neighborhood bank, giving back at Northwest is a hands-on effort, driven by a deep commitment to helping the communities we serve through the ups and downs of life," said Jennifer Gibson, region president, executive director retail banking, Northwest Bank. "This food drive is about more than just turkeys and stuffing at Thanksgiving, it's about people coming together to support each other."

Northwest Bank has partnered with Erie News Now and Second Harvest Food Bank since 2004 and became the exclusive corporate sponsor in 2017. Northwest employees support the event by collecting donations, connecting with community members and raising awareness about food insecurity.
