For more than 25 years, Warren Area Student Union's (WASU) haunted house has served as a key youth organization for community entertainment, with each generation of students contributing fresh perspectives and individualized creativity to the annual production, allowing the experience to continuously develop new haunts.
This year’s student body embraced the captivating theme of “School of the Dead,” weaving intricate back-stories throughout the experience. Each participant brought their own imaginative flair to the room they selected, creating a uniquely personalized atmosphere that reveals individual creativity and commitment to their presentation.
The haunted house typically welcomes approximately 600 visitors annually, with students attending WASU when available, creating memorable scares throughout each tour experience. If you enjoy spine-tingling entertainment, we cordially invite you to attend and support these dedicated student volunteers during the haunted house performance dates and times listed below.
WASU thoughtfully offers a Sensory Friendly evening designed with care, featuring all the haunted house charm without the intense scares or screams. It’s been a wonderful opportunity for visitors to fully enjoy the Halloween decorations and lights, even in the basement, in a way that feels comfortable and welcoming for them.
For the safety and well-being of both guests and volunteers, costume attire and facial masks for the guests are prohibited while touring our haunted house attraction.
To maintain a comfortable and secure environment for our student volunteers, the kids respectfully asked that visitors refrain from consuming alcohol during their visit.
It is highly recommended that an adult provide supervision for younger children, since this experience is deliberately designed to be fear-inducing and could cause significant distress without appropriate guidance and reassurance.
Beginning on Friday, tours will begin at 6 p.m. with the last tour at 9:45 p.m. (8:45 on Thursdays). Other dates include Oct. 22, 23, 24, 29 and 30. Cost is $5 per person.
On Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m. there will be a sensory friendly tour specifically created with no actors, noises or blinking lights. Decorations will be set up, featuring mazes and lights but there will be no strobe lights or jump scares. You will need to climb stairs during your tour. A $3 suggested donation on this night is appreciated.
