Community Blood Bank is getting into the Halloween spirit with its "Starve a Vampire, Give Blood" campaign, encouraging community members to celebrate the season by doing something that can make a lifesaving difference: donating blood.
Throughout October, everyone who donates blood with Community Blood Bank will receive a limited-edition "Drink Responsibly" blood donor T-shirt, while supplies last. The Halloween-themed shirt features a vampire holding a bag of blood with the message "Drink Responsibly. Donate Blood." It offers donors a fun way to show their support for blood donation long after they leave the blood drive.
"We wanted to have a little fun with Halloween while reminding people that there is a very real need for blood donors. One donation can make a lifesaving difference for patients in need," said Raven Edinger, Mobile Drive Coordinator lead.
Upcoming locations include: Still Water Lodge 547, 80 Railroad St., Youngsville, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday; and Holy Redeemer Church, 11 Russell St., Warren from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Community Blood Bank provides blood products to Warren General. Volunteer blood donors play an important role in ensuring lifesaving blood is available for patients who need it.
