SCANDIA -- Elk Township Historical Society will open its museum and restored 1800s classroom for the final event of the year on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Enjoy a beautiful autumn drive to the four corners in Scandia, and visit our museum filled with artifacts, old photos, cemetery and obituary records, and notebooks of early families, who resided in the township.
We're small in size, but filled from floor to ceiling with amazing collections of early life on the hill. Children will enjoy sitting at the antique school desks in the 1800s classroom, browsing through old books, writing on slates and ringing the old school bell.
Adults will enjoy looking through 100 years of school pictures and finding family members who attended one of the many Elk Township schools.
Extend your day by stopping in at The Shed, two miles further down the road, to check out their amazing museum and liquidation of their gift shop. All proceeds will benefit Elk Township Historical Society on Saturday.
Both museums are free to visit and will be enjoyed by all ages.
