Warren Area Student Union eyes upcoming events

The Warren Area Student Union (WASU) provides students with the opportunity to organize their own special events.

As students prepare for the annual WASU Haunted House, the facility will be closed. Scare actors will be diligently working to hold another great haunted house for the community to engage.

In preparation for the big event, a breakfast benefit will be on Oct. 4 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Warren Eagles Club, 2101 Penna Ave. E. Breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, sausage gravy with biscuits, homefries, sausage, french toast, coffee and orange juice, all for just $13. Basket raffle items are needed and there will also be a 50-50.

A bus trip to the Millcreek Mall and Eeriebyss Factory of Terror occurs on Saturday, Oct. 26. The deadline to sign up for the trip is Friday. Cost is $30 per person.

If you enjoy a good scare, it will definitely be worth it, shared Pam Falber, Director of the WASU. She is proud of all the time and effort that everyone is putting forth. The Haunted House will be

$5 per person and open on Oct. 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. Other dates are as follows: Oct. 17 is Sensory Night from 6 to 8 p.m.; Oct. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m.; Oct. 23 from 6 to 10 p.m.; Oct. 24 from 6 to 10 p.m.; Oct. 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and Oct. 30 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Due to high attendance, doors may close 15 minutes early. An admission fee of $5 is maintained to ensure that all children can enjoy the frightful experience. Contact Falber at the Warren Area Student Union Facebook page for more information.

Recently, Braelee Zuck, a fan of Michael Jackson, proposed a party to celebrate his birthday. Attendees were thrilled to dress for the event, all organized by the students on Aug. 29. Impressively, Alix and Catilina Peterson contributed by bringing all of Michael’s favorite foods and decorating with his preferred flower, the sunflower. The celebration kicked off with trivia questions, followed by a scavenger hunt, and concluded with dancing and singing.
