The Warren County School District Board of School Directors will consider an agenda Monday that includes grant applications, curriculum updates, school safety initiatives and proposed policies governing generative artificial intelligence.
Among the larger financial items is a proposed application for a $98,860 Supplemental Equipment Grant for the Warren County Career Center. The funding, if awarded, would support equipment benefiting students in the Protective Services program.
The board also will consider applications for Pennsylvania Department of Education Ready to Learn funding for the 2026-27 school year. In addition, administrators are seeking approval to develop and submit applications for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s 2026-28 School Safety and Mental Health Grant program.
Separate applications would be prepared for the Warren County School District and the Warren County Career Center. The district’s application would cover eligible school safety and mental health projects, while the Career Center’s application would focus on eligible physical security projects.
Several curriculum matters are also on the agenda.
The board is being asked to approve Reading Foundations planned instruction for grades two through 12. The program provides individualized, small-group reading intervention in areas including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
Updated planned instruction also is proposed for several technology education and STEM courses, including Technology and Engineering, Fabrication and Manufacturing and Creating Digital Media.
The meeting agenda also includes informational presentations on a proposed generative AI policy and an Unmanned Aircraft Systems policy. The agenda does not indicate that either policy is being presented for approval Monday.
The district also will review high school course offerings and class-size information. The class-size report identifies secondary classes with fewer than 12 students or more than 30 students.
Other education-related business includes a proposed $1,350 agreement with Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5 for behavioral consultation services to support the district’s special education programs during the 2026-27 school year.
The board will also consider proposed General Advisory Council and Occupational Advisory Council membership lists for the Warren County Career Center, as well as a list of students submitted for inclusion in the district’s Class of 2026 graduation cohort.
The board also will consider a production and licensing contract for the 2026-27 All County Musical Jr., “Honk! Jr.”
The Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 28.
