Northern Tier Expo showcases area organizations

The fourth annual Northern Tier Expo will return Saturday, drawing hundreds of local residents to connect with a record-breaking lineup of community agencies and organizations.
Traditionally held each September on the weekend following Labor Day, the growing annual event will feature more informational booths and hosted tables than ever before since its inception, signaling a major boost in local networking and public engagement.
Warren County is home to many organizations with resources and services designed to support community members. The Northern Tier Expo is a community event for all ages, designed to serve as a bridge between local organizations and the people in their communities. The event features organizations serving Warren County's Northern Tier townships: Russell, Sugar Grove, Bear Lake, Lander, and Scandia.
The Expo is community-centered and aims to create connections between people and the organizations that strive to serve them. While at the event, attendees can expect to learn about local agencies, services, organizations, and resources right in their own community.
More than just an informational fair, the event boasts of family-friendly activities, including Touch-a-Truck, children's activities, entertainment, and food, creating a welcoming environment where community members can learn and connect - all free of charge.
Discovering available local resources or understanding what specific organizations offer can be a challenge. Because community groups can only provide support if the public knows they exist, the expo serves a vital role. By bringing service providers and residents face-to-face under one roof, the event effectively bridges the information gap, ensuring that vital resources are easily accessible to everyone.
The expo will take over the gymnasium with information booths as well as offering food and entertainment both indoors and out. A wide variety of local organizations will have representatives ready to share information including but not limited to: Allegheny Outdoor Club, Avant Christian Learning Center, Bair Adoption, Beacon Light, Christian Women's Club, Cozy Quilts Ministry, Crossing Cafe, Dove FM Radio, Family Service of Warren County, HEROES of Warren, Kane Ramp Ministry, Northern Area Homes, NPRC (Northwestern PA Regional College) NW Tri-County IU5, PAWSitive Support, Pediatric Complex Care Resource Center, Pine Grove Lions and Lioness Clubs, ROAR (Revitalization of Akeley/Russell), Russell UMC Daycare, Salvation Army, Special Olympics, Sugar Grove Free Methodist Grief Share, Trail Life, Warren County Christian School, Warren Forest Hi-Ed, Wesley Woods Summer Camp, and several libraries, volunteer fire departments, senior living organizations, and churches.
Participants of the Touch-a-Truck include: Kinzua Area Discovery Center Children's Museum, Sam Gafner Korean Jeep, Ghostbusters, Matt Wallin of Pine Grove Auto will have a smart car, Russell VFD, Sheriff's department, Soapbox derby cars, state police and the TAWC bus.
The Northern Tier Expo is an opportunity to learn about the resources available, make connections, and help others find the support they need.
