The Warren County chapter of the United Fund is marking 102 years of bringing neighbors together, officially launching its 2026 Torchlight Campaign to rally the community for a common purpose.
A return to Warren's Veterans Memorial Bridge is set to take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. for the fifth annual Nickel Challenge. Last year, nearly $1,000 was raised assisting over 20 local agencies.
Residents are encouraged to bring loose change of any kind to cover the bridge with artistic coin designs, creating a visual tribute to the unique people, landmarks and organizations that define the local community.
That same idea is at the heart of the United Fund. One gift becomes part of something much bigger, helping strengthen the network of local agencies that care for our neighbors and make Warren County a stronger place to live.
In addition, community members are encouraged to be part of the campaign story by joining "Hands Across the Allegheny" for a powerful moment of unity, showing the people behind the mission and the community that works together to strengthen it.
A longtime member of the United Fund Board, Barbara Tubbs was also a dedicated supporter of both the organization and the Warren County community. Following her passing, the decision was made to donate all of the silver coins collected during the Nickel Challenge to the United Fund in her memory. It has become a meaningful part of the event and a special way to honor her and the impact she had on the United Fund over the years.
