Mental health services being offered at two schools

Riverside Counseling LLC will begin providing on‑site mental health services at both Eisenhower and Youngsville Schools starting in the 2026 school year. The initiative aims to make emotional and behavioral health support more accessible for students by offering therapy directly within the school buildings.
"We are here to support the Youngsville and Eisenhower Schools by providing accessible, school‑based clinical mental health services," said Joel Davison, LCSW, founder of Riverside Counseling. "Our role is to offer therapeutic support that complements the important work already being done within the schools. While improved academic functioning is often a natural outcome of better mental health, our primary focus is each student's overall emotional and psychological well‑being."
Davison explained that the idea developed over the winter after parents and school staff expressed a growing need for additional mental health support. Riverside Counseling began working with Dr. Patricia Mead, Director of Pupil Services, to establish offices inside the schools and ensure insurance could be accepted at those locations. The new school‑based offices are designed to increase accessibility and convenience for families. Students will be able to attend appointments without leaving the building or missing large portions of the school day. Families will have fewer scheduling challenges, and -- with parent permission -- clinicians can coordinate more easily with school staff to support each student's needs.
Established in 2017, Riverside Counseling LLC operates two offices in Warren, located at 203 W. Third Ave., and 311 Pennsylvania Ave. E. The practice employs six licensed therapists with diverse specialties, along with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Abby Wenzel, MSN, CRNP‑PMHNP‑BC.
Therapists providing services within the schools will include Joel Davison, LCSW; Aubrey Grant, LSW; and Jessica London, LSW. Services available to students include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and care coordination to help families access additional supports and community resources. Riverside clinicians have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral and emotional regulation difficulties, OCD, social skills development, stress, transitions, identity‑related concerns, and faith‑integrated support when desired.
The practice uses evidence‑based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma‑Focused CBT (TF‑CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution‑Focused Therapy, Parent/Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT) principles, Emotion‑Focused Therapy (EFT), Exposure‑based therapies, Written Exposure Therapy (WET), mindfulness strategies, and others.
Davison earned his undergraduate degree from Keuka College and completed his Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health at the University at Buffalo. He has been practicing therapy in Pennsylvania for over 20 years.Families seeking more information may contact Riverside Counseling at 814‑230‑3042, email 438riversidecounseling@gmail.com, or visit the practice's Facebook page.
