A man who was listed this week as one of the Jamestown Police Department's Top 10 Most Wanted List on Saturday was briefly jailed in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Andrew A. D'Angelo, 27, of Marienville, Pa., was wanted in Jamestown on charges of second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault. He was charged on Monday in Jenks Township, Forest County, after a domestic incident by the State Police at Marienville with misdemeanor strangulation – applying pressure to throat or neck, simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another.
D’Angelo was arraigned Saturday by Magisterial District Court Judge Raymond Zydonik in Warren County, who set bail at $75,000 cash. D'Angelo was taken to the Warren County Jail on Saturday,
Bail was then changed on Tuesday after a recommendation from the District Attorney’s Office to $75,000 unsecured. Unsecured bail in Pennsylvania means a judge sets a financial amount for bail, but the defendant doesn’t pay any money or put up property to get out of jail. Instead, the defendant signs an agreement promising to pay that specific amount only if the defendant breaks the rules or misses court dates. D'Angelo was released from the Warren County Jail on Tuesday.
The incident allegedly began Aug. 23 when D'Angelo woke up upset, allegedly pushing a woman out of bed and then throwing a vape at her leg, cutting her shin. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, D’Angelo then allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and jawline and shoved her into a wall and onto the floor. According to police, the woman hit her head against the wall. Then, according to police, D’Angelo threatened to kill the woman before getting a firearm and threatening to kill himself.
The woman wasn’t able to report the incident immediately, according to the affidavit, because D’Angelo controlled her phone, vehicle and movement. Police said in the affidavit that the woman left the Jenks Township home on Aug. 24 and received treatment at a hospital near Quakertown, Pa., for a leg injury and a concussion. She then contacted police.
