Warren library wraps up season of programs, events

Magician Cris Johnson performed his high energy Jurassic Journeys Dinosaur Adventure show that featured music, age appropriate humor, fun magic, audience participation and some lifelike dinosaurs that roared.
Master Gardeners of Warren County offered a program called What's the Buzz About Bees? Children learned about Pennsylvania bees and then made and decorated a bee drinking station to take home.
Mike Morton from Sundance Kids Farm brought several animals for a petting zoo on the library's front lawn. Over 300 people stopped by to interact with the animals.
Bo Winkels was one of the winners of the How Do Dinosaurs Stay Friends story walk. Bo and two others won a dinosaur-themed gift basket.
Officer Mitch Labesky from the Youngsville Police Department brought his partner K9 Officer Mimi to meet the children, and answer many questions about Mimi. Children got to see the inside of the police vehicle which is specifically equipped for K9 Officer Mimi as well as for Mimi as a pet.

The Warren Public Library has had another great summer with a variety of programs for everyone.
With the end of summer closing in, Susan Slater, Children's Librarian, shared what has taken place so far in the children's department. Dinosaur-themed programs and activities coincided with the "Unearth a Story" Collaborative Summer Library Program theme that libraries across the country followed. In addition to story times, movies, arts and crafts, there was a story walk, a scavenger hunt, a writing contest, and a giant dino egg guessing game.
