Bus safety day includes ice cream for kindergartners

The Johnson Transportation bus company will hold its fourth annual bus safety day for kindergarten students attending the Warren County School District. This will take place on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 at Johnson Transportation located at 29200 Route 6 Youngsville.
During the annual Kindergarten Safety/Ice Cream Day, kindergarten students will learn how to be safe, smart and ready on the school bus by being taught bus safety rules, including how to board and exit the bus. Bus drivers go over the rules with students followed by a bus ride to Scoops Icecream at the Youngsville Hardware Store.
Owner Connie Johnson shared that many positive comments about this event have been received over the years. She said, "The students entering kindergarten are already venturing into something new and riding a school bus can be scary if they've never been on one. So we want to take that anxiety away so they are confident and ready and know what to expect."
In addition, Johnson Transportation partners with Amazon as a local delivery hub. Through an initiative called the "Together We Give Back to School," Youngsville was nominated and selected to receive 60 free filled backpacks. During the event, free and filled backpacks will be given to the first 60 kids.
