A day dedicated to the community coming together is a day dedicated to strengthening it. Organizers have planned a fun-filled day with something for everyone to celebrate with free family activities, live music, food trucks, games, races, and more.
This celebration is more than a fundraiser; it's a way to celebrate community to demonstrate that all are welcome. Hosted by the Warren Area Refugee Resettlement Network (WARRN) in partnership with the Warren YMCA, the all day free event will be on Saturday at Betts Park from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m..
Registration for races can be done online ahead of time or the day of the event, beginning at 8 a.m. with a pre-race meeting: 8:50 a.m. The 4-mile run/walk registration begins at 9 a.m. and the 2-mile walk/run at 9:05 a.m. In addition, free Kids Races will take place immediately following the 2- and 4-mile events, with lengths based on age group.
For more information on how to register for the Better Together 4-Mile Run & 2-Mile Run/Walk can be found at: https://bit.ly/48I3noA or link from the Facebook page or YMCA website.
Awards will be presented immediately following the races, at approximately 10 a.m., featuring hand-carved wooden awards from the Allegheny National Forest by a local woodworker.
It is important for runners to know that registration, the start/meet-up area, and day-of registration are at the pavilion near the tennis courts, not the pickleball courts. The 4-mile course includes three loops of Betts Park with marked/staffed areas and water stops. The 2-mile course includes one full loop plus a small loop. All course details will be reviewed at the 8:50 a.m. pre-race meeting. Participants will receive a race t-shirt and additional shirts will be available for purchase at the registration area.
Food trucks will be on site from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and include Mother Cluckers, Hogs on Dogs and 3 Hounds Creamery.
Vendors and nonprofit community organizations are still being accepted. For vendor information visit: https://bit.ly/4cSGd1k
The live music schedule runs from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The line up is as follows: 9-11 a.m. -- Rust & Ribbon, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. -- Campfire Junkie, 2-3:30 p.m. -- Paul Schwanke, 4-5 p.m. -- Egypt Hollow, 5:30-7:30 p.m. -- Echoes on Water, and from 7:30-8:00 p.m. -- John Stewart will play bagpipes.

Free kids zones will take place all day from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m; with two activity play stations set up at each end of the park. Local organizations and vendors will be onsite throughout the celebration.
A 3-Pointer Challenge will have onsite registration from 10 to 11 a.m. at the basketball courts and is FREE for kids and $5 for adults which include chances to win 50/50 profits.
A Tug of War Contest will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. as well, with six people per team able to sign up on site.
The day will end with a free glow walk at sunset by meeting at the pavilion near the tennis courts (not pickleball) and a free family movie will follow.
