Christian rock featured in Sunday free concert
The Daughters of Thunder duo welcomed two additional band members recently and will hold a free community concert Sunday evening, opening for Matt Baird, of Spoken.

The Music Conservatory in Warren will present a free community concert featuring Matt Baird of the band named Spoken on Sunday at 7 p.m. The up-and-coming band Daughters of Thunder will open the concert located at the JAZz Amphitheater, Soldiers and Sailors Park, 353 Pennsylvania Ave W, Warren.
The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and in the case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church located at 444 Pennsylvania Ave. West.
The Daughters of Thunder have become well known in the community for their Christian rock music. What began as a sister duo in 2022 has recently transformed into a band of four. Annabelle and Adalyn Martin, along with their parents Jared and Danielle said that after years of prayer, patience, and faith, God answered the longing for the addition of two young musicians. "We asked God to bring the right people, the right hearts, and the right musicians into Daughters of Thunder. We never wanted to rush ahead of His plan or fill a position just for the sake of filling it. We trusted that when the time was right, He would send exactly who we needed."
They welcomed Natalie Ross, 16, as a new Daughter of Thunder. She is a Warren County native who is not just an amazing drummer, but she's a perfect fit for the mission and ministry of Daughters of Thunder. She has played with the Martin sisters all summer.
Alice Sperlongo, 15, moved to the area two years ago. Originally from Brazil, she brings incredible talent on the guitar along with humor and experience to the band. The girls knew from the very first rehearsal, it was clear that God had brought them their fourth band member. Her love for music and her desire to glorify Jesus make her a perfect fit for Daughters of Thunder. This free concert will be her second show with the band.

The Daughters of Thunder will open the free community concert featuring Baird. The relationship began at the 2024 Uprise Christian Music Festival in Shippensburg, where the Martin sisters covered Spoken’s track “Calm the Storm.” After meeting Baird at the event, the artists formed a close friendship, eventually performing the song together at SALT Church in Corry. A few months ago, the Daughters of Thunder initiated contact with Baird to coordinate this upcoming free performance in Warren.
Baird is the lead vocalist and founding member of the Christian rock band Spoken, active since 1996. Remaining the only original band member, his music has always been known for blending post-hardcore, alternative rock, and Christian rock elements. The band's debut album, On Your Feet (1997), showcased a rap-rock and nu-metal (a subgenre of alternative metal) influenced style, while later albums evolved to include melodic and post-hardcore sounds.
Baird is recognized for his powerful yet melodic vocals, which complement Spoken’s dynamic instrumentals. His songwriting often explores themes of faith, love, and personal struggles. He has contributed to shaping the band’s identity and sound, which combines heavy riffs with atmospheric elements
In 2023, Spoken signed with XOVR Records, founded by Brian "Head" Welch (formerly of Korn) and the release of their 10th studio album, Reflection, was in March 2024. This album features a mix of melody, aggression, and thought-provoking lyrics, continuing the band’s legacy of hard work and musical evolution.
Some of Spoken’s well-known tracks featuring Baird’s vocals include Through It All, Breathe Again, and Sleep Well Tonight, the latter of which he has performed live at venues such as Rockhouse39.
Baird also performs solo acoustic sets and guest worship at churches worldwide, maintaining a strong connection with fans. He continues to actively write, perform, and collaborate, ensuring his influence remains significant in the Christian rock and post-hardcore music scenes.
