Allegheny National Forest requests submissions for Kinzua opportunities

2 min read

The Allegheny National Forest is seeking submissions from interested parties to provide high-quality public services, in the operation and maintenance of government-owned facilities at Kinzua Beach and Kinzua Point Information Center. Respondents are encouraged to submit their concepts and ideas for the area and how that vision could be achieved.

This solicitation for concepts is called a "Request for Expressed Interest" and is not a formal offering for the award of a special use permit or for participation in future solicitations. Submissions received from this request may demonstrate a need to issue a prospectus in the future. Submissions may also help shape the type of activities and the level of use allowed in a future solicitation.

This "Request for Expressed Interest" will be used to:

-- Determine if sufficient competitive interest exists to expand on current services being offered at the sites.

-- Invite submissions for concepts that would re-imagine the recreational use of the sites.

More information, including history, site specifics, maps and photos can be found on the Kinzua Beach and Kinzua Point Information Center Reimagined webpage. Site visits to Kinzua Beach and Kinzua Point Information Center are available upon appointment.

Interested respondents can contact Richard Hatfield at richard.hatfield@usda.gov to submit concepts and ask questions. Concept submissions must be received by Oct. 13, via email or mail to ATTN: Rich Hatfield, District Ranger, Bradford Ranger District, 29 Forest Service Drive, Bradford, PA 16701. All responses will be posted for public review on our website.

Starting at /week.
