Warren County Conservation District accepting photo contest entries
The Warren County Conservation District is accepting entries for its seventh annual photo contest through Sept. 11 at 4 p.m.
District officials are asking interested photographers to submit 8×10 matted photos (no frames) to the Warren County Conservation District, 4000 Conewango Ave., Warren. Categories include: sports action, ice /icicles, fish/ fishing, and patriotic. Photos must be taken in Warren County and two photos can be entered in each category per entrant. On the back of the photo, entrants should write their name, address, phone number, place where the photo was taken and category. The cost to enter is $2 per photo.
The public is invited to come to the WCCD office between Sept. 15-30 to vote for their favorite photo in each category for the People’s Choice award. Photos will be judged by members of the Warren Camera Club on Oct. 1, and winners will be announced on Oct. 6.
Prizes are provided by Warren County Visitors Bureau and include $10 gift cards for first prize and People’s Choice winners in each category. A $50 gift card will also be awarded to the overall Best of Show.
Neither employees and directors of the Warren County Conservation District nor professional photographers are eligible to participate. Professional photographers are considered anyone who has ever been paid to take photos or sold photos of any kind.
Submitting an entry includes a statement that the photographer is the owner of the photograph(s) gives the district permission to use the photo without restrictions now or in the future. Go to www.wcconservation.net or call 814-726-1441 for more information.
