YOUNGSVILLE – Arrest warrants have been issued for two people from Georgia wanted after fleeing from a traffic stop Saturday at 9:30 p.m. on Route 6.

Youngsville police officers pulled a vehicle over for an equipment violation involving a vehicle registered in the state of Ohio. The officer made contact with five people inside the vehicle, with the officer finding all five were allegedly unlawfully present in the United States. The State Police at Warren responded to the scene and the five people were attempted to be taken into custody at the request of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Three people were charged without incident and taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol from the Youngsville Police Department. Two of the five ran away.

“At this time there is no information to indicate that the two individuals who fled pose a threat to the public,” Youngsville Police Chief Todd Mineweaser said in a statement released Sunday. “Based on the circumstances of the incident, it is believed they fled in an attempt to avoid law enforcement and arrest. As a precaution, the Youngsville Borough Police Department reminds residents to remain vigilant by ensuring that homes, vehicles and other personal property are secured by locking doors and taking normal safety precautions.”

Warrants have been issued for Hector Orlando Ramos Santos, 21, a white Hispanic male who stands 5-feet, 6-inches in height, and Nehemias Josue Chavez Reyes, 32, a white Hispanic man standing 5-feet, 7-inches tall. Santos is charged locally with third-degree felony escape, third-degree felony flight to avoid apprehension/trial/punishment, misdemeanor resisting arrest/other law enforcement and driving without a license. Reyes is charged with third-degree felony escape and third-degree felony flight to avoid apprehension/trial/punishment.

“It is believed that these persons have no ties to the local area and were using state Route 6 to travel to another location from Columbus, Ohio,” Mineweaser said in the statement.

In an unrelated case, a Warren man also faces charges of third-degree escape as well as misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle filed Sunday by Warren city police officers. Rhylee J. Trubic, 18, of Warren was charged.
