Warren City Council will meet today at 7 p.m., where they will consider appointing a new city solicitor after the dissolving of Stapleford & Byham, LLC.

The agenda includes a resolution to appoint Stapleford Law Office, LLC, as the city’s solicitor.

The action follows the July 1 dissolution of Stapleford & Byham, LLC. Attorney Andrea Stapleford has established Stapleford Law Office, LLC, at 600 Market St., and the council will consider formally designating the new firm to serve as city solicitor for the remainder of 2026.

Council will also review tentative settlement agreements involving 10 property tax assessment appeals currently pending in Warren County Court of Common Pleas.

The city previously approved a joint representation agreement for legal counsel to negotiate the appeals.

The proposed settlements, reached in June, would also require approval from Warren County and the Warren County School District before becoming final.

Another item before council is a proposed ordinance creating a no-parking zone along a portion of Glenwood Street.

City officials say the street’s recent rehabilitation through Community Development Block Grant funding included the installation of curbing that narrowed the roadway. As a result, large vehicles such as garbage trucks and delivery trucks have difficulty navigating the sharp 90-degree turn when vehicles are parked nearby.

The proposed restriction would prohibit parking along the west side of Glenwood Street between designated points north of Jackson Avenue.

Council is also expected to consider authorizing the disposal of a surplus Ford F-350 four-wheel-drive dump truck in accordance with city code.

The meeting agenda also includes committee updates from the Comprehensive Plan Task Force, Council of Governments, the Riverfront Development and Warren Worx.
