Warren Players to host Mad Hatter Tea Party today
The young cast of Alice in Wonderland is gearing up for opening night on June 26. To celebrate, the cast invites the community to the performance and also to a special Mad Hatter Tea Party the week before.
From tea cups to curtain calls, the Warren Players are inviting the community to experience the wonder of Alice in Wonderland in more ways than one.
This summer, families will have the opportunity to step into the whimsical world of Wonderland through both the Warren Players’ Jack in the Box production of Alice in Wonderland and a Mad Hatter Tea Party fundraiser designed to bring the story to life while supporting the future of community theater in Warren.
The Mad Hatter Tea Party will take place Saturday, June 20, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Warren YMCA. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy tea party refreshments, meet and greet with costumed characters, pose for themed photo opportunities, and participate in other Wonderland-inspired activities.
The event will feature the young cast members from the Warren Players’ Jack in the Box production of Alice in Wonderland, giving the community a chance to meet the talented local performers behind the beloved characters before they take the stage.
Mayan Cook, who is directing Alice in Wonderland alongside Cindy Dziendziel, said the tea party offers families a fun, unique way to connect with the production before they take the stage, meanwhile supporting opportunities for young performers.
“It celebrates their hard work while helping support the programs and opportunities that keep community theater thriving in Warren,” Cook said.
Now wrapping up its 95th season, the Warren Players has been a cornerstone of the local arts community, providing generations of residents with opportunities to perform, volunteer, learn, and experience live theater. Through productions, educational programming, and outreach efforts, the organization continues its longstanding tradition of enriching the cultural life of the community.
Proceeds from the Mad Hatter Tea Party support the Warren Players’ mission and help sustain its commitment to community theater throughout the region.
Following the tea party festivities, audiences can continue the adventure at performances of Alice in Wonderland, presented by the Warren Players’ Jack in the Box program at the Woman’s Club of Warren. Performances are scheduled for Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27, at 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee on June 28 at 2 p.m.
