Before the cookouts, parades, and long weekend celebrations begin, it is important to pause in order to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day and the incredible sacrifice behind it.

The Blue Star Mothers would like to come together as a community in gratitude and remembrance for the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedoms. The Blue Star Mothers of Kinzua PA 203 are honored to announce their first Memorial Day Ceremony at General Joseph Warren Park, Pennsylvania Avenue West, this evening at 6.

The program will begin with prayer and then the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Beth Steva. Next, the National Anthem will be sung by the Clouse Family Trio followed by a speech by Skyla Govier, President for Blue Star Mothers of Kinzua.

The dedication of the Memorial Wreath will be presented by Patti Colosimo.

Following that, a patriotic melody and a speech by Navy Veteran Larry Clouse will be given along with a poem. Karen Hert will read the names in the park. Candles will be lit and positioned by the Blue Star Mothers and anyone that would like to participate. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the reading of the names of all the fallen from Warren County will take place, and “Taps” will be played by Marcia White.

Starting at $3.50/week.
