Jamestown man jailed after alleged drunken incident

A drunken night out in downtown Warren landed a Jamestown man in the Warren County Jail for a brief period of time over the weekend.

Nicholas Taylor, 41, of Jamestown, was charged Saturday by Warren City Police with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and retail theft after officers responded to a reported shoplifting at 1:07 p.m. Saturday at Fine Wine and Spirits at 36 Market St., Warren. The caller told police the man was walking toward Tops Market and gave a description. The man was found in Tops Market and identified as Taylor, according to the Affidavit of Probable Cause. Taylor allegedly had taken $52.99 worth of merchandise from Fine Wine and Spirits and $30.20 worth of merchandise from Dollar General.

The items were recovered in the area where Taylor had allegedly been seen by a witness urinating in a flower bed in front of the entrance to Anytime Fitness.

“The Tops Plaza at this time of the incident was very busy,” the affidavit states. “The parking lot was full of vehicles and multiple pedestrians shopping at the time of the incident. Taylor did admit several times to urinating in the public area.”

Taylor was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik, who set bail at $10,000. Taylor was taken to the county jail until he could post bail.

Starting at $3.50/week.
