The HUB sports facility, located at 7451 Market St., Russell, behind Praise Fellowship Church, will hold its first fundraising sale on Friday and Saturday. Hours will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will also be available for purchase throughout the sale.

The HUB has benefited sports teams in the area, from basketball camps to cornhole tournaments and concerts. Joe Sanford, Warren High School pole vault coach, shared he is thankful for members, attendees, staff, pastors and John Young’s group for giving the track and field team the opportunity to use the HUB for the past four years.

This past track season, the team used the facility from December through March.

“We were blessed to use this facility twice a week during that time period. Our pole vault practices usually last about 2 1/2 hours. There is a pole vault pit, an elevated runway, and various drill stations. It has made a huge difference in the performances of all our pole vaulters,” he said, “with athletes and coaches coming from Warren, Beaty, Eisenhower, Kane, Union City, Corry, and occasionally from the Jamestown area schools, most of our athletes are Christians already, but The Praise Fellowship Hub has had a spiritual impact on all of us!” The pole vaulters have improved tremendously, shared Sanford.

The HUB will also be holding a free all-day event on July 11 called “For Adonia.” It will be a day of worship and praise, with prayer stations and baptisms if led. Hot dogs and water will be available.
