Crimestoppers offers cash reward for drug crime tips
The Warren County Crimestoppers are urging residents to come forward with information as part of an ongoing effort to combat illegal drug activity in the area.
Warren County Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward for tips that lead to successful investigations involving the manufacturing or trafficking of illegal drugs. Past investigations have uncovered active drug production operations as well as the distribution of multiple types of illegal substances throughout the county.
Community cooperation is critical in addressing the issue and anyone with information is encouraged to report it.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Warren County Crimestoppers anonymously at 1-800-83-CRIME (1-800-832-7463). Tips can also be reported to the City of Warren Police Department’s non-emergency line at 814-723-2700.
In 2024, the last year for which data is available through the state court system, there were 11 felony drug cases and six misdemeanor drug cases that comprised 5.1% of new cases filed in the Court of Common Pleas. Over 10 years, the number of drug cases filed in the Court of Common Pleas decreased by 70.2%, according to court system statistics, though there has been an increase in the past couple of years. There were six admissions into the county’s treatment court, with two graduating successfully.
The story is different at the Magisterial District Court level. There were 126 drug cases filed in the county’s three MDJ courts in 2024, according to court system statistics, comprising 20.1% of cases filed. Drug cases filed in Magisterial District Courts have increased by 50% from 2015 to 2024, though there was a marked decrease from the 201 cases filed in 2020 to the 126 filed in 2024.
