Worship Night fundraiser is planned for Saturday

YOUNGSVILLE – The Warren County Christian School will be holding its first Worship Night fundraiser on Saturday, March 21, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Live music will feature performances by Meghan Kelsey and Skylar Martin, Denny and the Misfits, and Caleb Pangborn.

Kelsey and Martin are a mother-son songwriting duo who have have been writing music together since Martin was seven years old. While they occasionally perform together, both are independent artists with their own musical paths. Martin is primarily a country artist who has also written an original Christian song, “More Than Ever.” Kelsey is a Christian songwriter and artist, and the lead vocalist and lyrical artist for the duo Malachi, alongside guitarist Ryan Lundgren.

Denny and the Misfits is led by Denny Maze, who plays the acoustic guitar.

Other members include: Ed Bennett, who plays the fiddle and has been part of the local orchestra and also played in local churches; Steve Cofer, who plays the bass and was part of a praise and worship team and local country and bluegrass groups; Tom Hodges, who plays the dobro and has been part of a number of country and bluegrass groups; A.J. Maze, who plays the banjo and guitar and has served as a worship leader at a local church; and Bill Smith, who plays the mandolin, and comes from a long line of family musicians and has played in local country and bluegrass groups.

Denny and the Misfits

Both Denny Maze and his son A.J. Maze have been part of The Stuart Family gospel singing group that traveled around to perform for more than 35 years.

Students will also perform at the concert.

Warren County Christian School is located at 165 Mead Run Road in Youngsville.

Shauna Sanders, the school’s fundraising coordinator, has organized the event on behalf of the school with all proceeds benefit WCCS. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and include a food voucher for a hot dog, chips and water.
