Three Warren brothers realizing a ‘Bigs’ dream

For three Warren brothers, running a restaurant and serving others is in their DNA.

Jamie, Shawn, and Brandon Young, all of Warren, started working as boys in their parent’s restaurants, Pure Country and Debbie and Gordy’s Family Restaurant. Those days sparked a lifelong passion for food and community and now they’re turning that passion into something of their own.

The three brothers recently announced the purchase of Bigs Pizza and Subs, located at 1060 Pennsylvania Ave. West in Warren and the changes have already started. The trio has revamped the pizza sauce and now makes it fresh in house.

“The customers have been raving about it,” Brandon Young said.

They have also revamped their menu and are adding deep fried favorites as soon as their fryer is up and running, while still keeping the baked options that customers have already been enjoying.

They also offer party pizzas with 24 slices, which have been a community staple.

Bigs also is bringing innovation into the pizza shop, offering a new point of sale system with a self order kiosk, making it possible to skip the line and quickly place your order. They are also developing an automated phone system, making it possible to handle up to 50 calls at once. This should make it possible to place an order with no hold times or waiting.

This venture is about more than pizza. It’s about family legacy and community.

“This isn’t just a pizza shop to us.,” Brandon continued, “It’s the start of something we hope to grow much bigger in the future. We’re proud to serve the town we grew up in.”

Bigs is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays in the summer.
