Sheffield Library holds many programs
Sheffield has a brand new custom made book return thanks to a donation from Hamlin Bank and Trust.
SHEFFIELD – The Sheffield Township Library offers several programs that serve the community. From preschool story time to afterschool exploration for elementary through middle schoolers, as well as topics for homeschoolers, craft nights and monthly book clubs.
Special events coming up on the calendar include:
– trivia night with wine tasting on April 17th
– Master Gardener vegetable growing program for 5th through 12th graders beginning April 30
– 3-day book sale in May
– summer reading programs in June and July.

The library provides titles in print and e-book formats for adults, young adults and children which are continuously being updated. As part of the Access, PA Interlibrary loan system, titles not in-house can be borrowed from other libraries and materials are shared throughout the state as well. Electronic resources on a wide variety of topics from well vetted sources can be accessed through the website. Video games for Switch, X-Box and PS4 systems, a selection of board games, and puzzles are on hand for circulation. Patron services available in the library include printing/faxing, wi-fi and computer use. The library has a section on local history and print copies of “The Valley Voice”.
Sheffield Township Library welcomes ideas for programming and materials. The library participates in the Warren Gives program and the donations are always used to benefit library patrons. Reference inquiries are handled by staff which includes Karen Rubright, Kathy Eck and director, Alexis McAvoy.
