The Christian Homeschool Association of Pennsylvania is embarking on a “Hometown Tour” this month.

Its first stop will be in Warren County on Monday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the Calvary Chapel of Russell, 8160 Market St., Russell.

According to the website, the association is a nonprofit corporation founded to encourage and support families interested in home education. They seek to assist parents in understanding and fulfilling the law’s requirements as well as provide leadership and direction on issues facing Christian homeschoolers on national and statewide levels. They serve homeschool families all year long through their podcast and resources on their websites chaponline.org and homeschoolpennsylvania.org.

The annual convention was recently attended by local residents Nathan and Sarah Dispenza. Homeschool educators for their children, the Dispenzas value the freedom it gives them and the impact it has on their children’s future. The extra time together as a family is invaluable as well. Excited to share with local homeschool families, the Dispenzas have made it possible to cover this region by hosting the tour here for the first time.

Warren is one of five stops to hold the “Hometown Tour” which will include Lauren Gideon, speaker and director of government relations at Education Independence. Gideon will travel across the commonwealth to visit with homeschoolers in Pennsylvania to share wisdom, encouragement and support for families and for the CHAP non-profit corporation. Families are invited to revisit the foundational principles, referencing the U.S. Constitution which makes educational freedom necessary and achievable.

The tour will also include stops in Pittsburgh, State College, Scranton and Lancaster.

The event consists of two sessions, a light dinner and fellowship.Cost is $20 for single and $30 per couple. Registration is online and encouraged by Thursday at https://chaponline.com/events/2026-hometown-tours-warren/
