Erie Zoo plans Grand Re-opening celebration
The Erie Zoo opened to the public Sunday, March 1, for the start of their 2026 season, with their annual Grand Re-opening Day Celebration set for Saturday, featuring fun activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission will be free to visitors all day, thanks to the support from UPMC Health Plan and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Additionally, Mighty Fine Donuts will provide free breakfast treats, and Mill Creek Coffee Company will provide free coffee and hot chocolate while supplies last. Taradoodles will also be joining in the celebration as a face painting vendor for guests for an additional fee.
“The animals and staff are excited to welcome everyone back for a new season at the Erie Zoo”, said Roo Kojancie, Erie Zoo CEO and President. “We look forward to another great season of meaningful experiences together.”
The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March 1 to Nov. 30, with special event hours listed on www.eriezoo.org.
