Dog licensing being offered on Saturday
Submitted by Kaylee Bigelow The Warren County Treasurer, along with chocolate lab “Moose,” are urging dog owners to take advantage of dog licensing offered on Saturday at Tractor Supply
Warren County Treasurer Lisa Marie Barr is reminding the public that dogs over eight weeks old in Pennsylvania must be licensed.
Barr said that dog licensing is being offered outside of normal hours in hopes of assisting the community. On Saturday, a veterinarian will be at Tractor Supply at 4210 Market St., Warren, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again on April 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. License fees are $10.80 per year and $8.80 for seniors or disabled individuals.
Fines for unlicensed dogs can range from $100 to $500.
The courthouse has normal Monday through Friday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but with those who cannot make it to the courthouse, the two Saturdays should help.
In order to purchase a lifetime license, the dog must be microchipped, have proof of microchip from the vet or shelter and the cost is $52.80 for regular and $36.80 seniors or disabled individuals.
If owners use VIP Pet care (vippetcare.com) through Tractor Supply, there is the option to add a microchip from the onsite veterinarian for a lifetime license.
Cash, check or credit card are all accepted on site.
