Deerfield Center offering client transportation
Vans are available for transporting clients in the Deerfield Center’s Addiction Treatment Program.
Transportation for clients in the Deerfield Center for Addiction Treatment Program has been underway in Warren County.
The initiative assists with any barriers that individuals may often face when getting to appointments. Door-to-door service to office locations in Marienville, Tionesta and Warren will allow clients to focus on their recovery, at no cost to those in need.
An affiliate of the Journey Health System and Stairways Behavioral Health, Deerfield Centers for Addiction Treatment is pleased to offer this transportation service, which is made possible as a collaboration with the Forest-Warren Mental Wellness Association.
Since Deerfield’s move to north Warren, now located at 1885 Market St. in the same building that houses Beacon Light, NWPC and UPMC, a need for this particular service has been presented.
“We wanted to make sure that all of our clients still had access to our facility, especially taking into consideration that many clients in early stages of recovery often don’t have means of transportation,” shared Dan Minich, recovery specialist.
Offering something unique and specific to Deerfield to maintain quality and confidentiality of participation is of great value and this personalized service aligns with the mission of patient confidentiality.
The first phase of recovery traditionally begins in a residential facility. Phase 2 of treatment begins after a client successfully completes their residential program with intensive outpatient care. Intensive Outpatient Services for Forest and Warren County are facilitated at the Warren office, making transportation and quality housing for clients all the more critical. Transportation for individual appointments is offered as well.
It is the first initiative in the collective mission to eventually provide both housing and transportation to all phases of outpatient services for clients in early recovery. The critical part of the early recovery process is in the first 3-12 months after clients graduate their residential program. This is where they are most vulnerable. Intensive Outpatient participation is, therefore, a critical component to overall client success. Maintaining ease in prioritizing the health and wellness of their patients while maintaining the confidentiality that comes with being in recovery is essential. “This is incredibly important to us and something we are sensitive to,” Minich said.
