Crime Stoppers offer reward in scam theft

Authorities in Warren are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects connected to a large-scale scam and theft, with a cash reward being offered for information leading to arrests.
Warren County Crimestoppers announced the reward as part of an ongoing investigation into a case reported on March 19. According to the City of Warren Police Department, officers were dispatched after a resident reported being targeted in an elaborate fraud scheme.
Police say the victim was contacted by an individual claiming to represent Walmart’s fraud protection service, who alleged that her personal information had been compromised.
Investigators believe the operation may have originated outside the local area but involved assistance from individuals within the community acting as accomplices. Authorities are asking residents to report any suspicious activity or vehicles that may be used as couriers in connection with the scheme.
