City teen charged after assault, threat with weapon

A Warren man has been jailed on $50,000 bail after allegedly assaulting another person Tuesday in an incident allegedly involving a pistol.

Maxwell E. Enos, 18, of Warren was charged with first-degree felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault. Enos was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Court Judge Raymond Zydonik. A preliminary hearing will be held March 25.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Warren police officers responded to a past-tense assault at 10:27 p.m. Tuesday. Officers responded to Plum Street, but the incident that left one person injured took place on Terrace Street. Officers met with the victim and a juvenile witness who told police the victim was physically assaulted by Enos and two youths.

“After the physical assault the defendant then drew a black pistol, with light and laser, which he pointed in the victim’s face,” the affidavit states.

Officers later report interviewing several other people who were allegedly present during the incident, with witnesses reportedly confirming the victim was assaulted by Enos and the youths before Enos allegedly drew and pointed a pistol matching the victim’s statement.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Warren General Hospital emergency room for treatment of what police said was a visible head injury and complaint of rib pain where he was allegedly kicked during the assault.

Starting at $3.50/week.
