Submitted photo by Flora Bilott February 18, 2026 was proclamation day for Warren County 4-H. Pictured receiving the proclamation for Pennsylvania 4-H week are Flora Bilott, Ella Bilott, Max Peterson and 4H Educator Justin Heasley along with Commissioners Dan Glotz, Tricia Durbin, and Kenneth Klakamp.
The Warren County Commissioners recently proclaimed 4-H week.
Flora Biott, 4-H teen council reporter, said the 4H program’s accomplishments were also acknowledged by the commissioners.
-H focuses on hands-on learning in agriculture, health, STEM, and civic engagement for ages 5 to 19 and is guided by the motto “To Make the Best Better.”
There are 17 clubs in Warren County from crafting clubs to market livestock clubs. As an example, the livestock clubs raise market animals to sell at the 4H auction during the county fair as well as attend clinics, jackpot shows, and participate in community service projects. Horse clubs participate in County, District, and State horse shows as well as clinic and field trips. The craft clubs learn to bake, sew, knit, draw, and do various things for the community.
The teen council focuses on leadership and community service for teens, ages 13-19. All of the clubs work on different projects to enter into the Warren County Fair in August. It can be anything from a small drawing to an equine show and everything in between. 4-H is a unique program that builds leadership skills, responsibility animal caretaking, photography, fiber arts, crafting, woodworking, STEM, equine skills, and many more amazing experiences that children have the opportunity to engage in here in Warren County.
Involved with 4-H for 3 years, both Flora and Evelyn Bilott said they have learned valuable things such as leadership, responsibility, and taking care of animals.
“4-H has taught me a multitude of skills to use in real life situations,” said Evelyn Bilott.
