Gov. Josh Shapiro issued a statement Friday regarding the fire that occurred Friday morning in Spartansburg, Pa.

“My administration is in touch with local officials in Crawford County following a fire at an Amish schoolhouse, and PA State Police are at the scene to support the first responders who answered the call to this tragedy,” he said on X, formerly Twitter.

“Lori and I are praying for those who were injured, and for the entire Spartansburg community as they come together, recover, and rebuild.”

The fire struck an Amish schoolhouse with three girls being flown by helicopter to Buffalo hospitals, according to the Erie Times-News. The schoolhouse was a total loss.
