Robotics team rated 139th globally

A Warren Area High School robotics team has finished its regular season with two championships – raising its ranking to among the top 1% globally.

Team 52575C competed in its final two regular season tournaments over the weekend and brought home the championship trophy in both. The Ft. LeBoeuf VEX V5 PA State Regional Qualifier was held Friday, with the Warren students winning the tournament championship, Skills Championship and the Design Award.

The team then competed at the Brawl at the Beaver Dam at DuBois Area Senior High School on Saturday, winning the tournament championship and the Excellence Award.

The team is now six for six at state qualifying tournaments this season and ended the regular season ranked 139 out of 13,298 teams in the world. The team will now compete in the 2026 Western Pennsylvania State Championships on March 9 at PennWest Clarion. The state championships are an opportunity to qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championships.

Team members include Donald Anderson, Rebecca Anderson, Abbi Cornman, Liam Ferry, Mason Moore, Phil Nickerson, and Lincoln Olsen. They are led by advisor Arthur Anderson.
