Recognitions on agenda for school board

The Warren County School Board will meet tonight and the agenda begins with recognitions and presentations from the SkillsUSA State Qualifiers, presented by Jim Evers of the Career Center.

Other topics for the meeting include the Distributive Education Club of America and the Future Business Leaders of America as well as the Sheffield Area Elementary Middle School Food Drive.

Other items include:

— A motion that the school board instruct the administration to develop and submit an application to the School Safety and Mental Health Grant for eligible physical security projects at both the Warren County School District and the Warren County Career Center.

— A motion that the board accepts the Audit Report as submitted by Heberlein & Falk, P.C., for the year ended June 30, 2025, as presented.

— The first reading of adding in the language from the PA Supreme Court ruling. The Pennsylvania Sunshine Law ensures that government meetings are open to the public, promoting transparency and public participation in government decision-making.

According to PA.gov, the purpose of the Sunshine Law has the primary goal of preventing government agencies from making decisions without public knowledge and input. By ensuring that meetings are open and accessible, the law aims to foster trust and accountability in government operations.

Other items include the proposed school calendar for the 2026-27 school year, funding for the all school musical and an expansion to the unified leagues to include Bocce at Beaty-Warren Middle School and track at Warren Area High School level.
