Irvine man charged with rape

An Irvine man has been jailed on $150,000 unsecured bail after being charged with rape as well as unlawful contact with a minor.

Bradley J. Martin, 36, was charged Wednesday by the State Police at Warren. He was arraigned Wednesday by Magisterial District Court Judge Raymond Zydonik, who set bail and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Feb. 18.

Martin was charged with two counts of first-degree felony rape forcible compulsion; two counts of first-degree felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse forcible compulsion, two counts of first-degree unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses, three counts of second-degree sexual assault, five counts of second-degree felony aggravated indecent assault without consent, five counts of second-degree felony aggravated indecent assault – forcible compulsion, five counts of third-degree felony corruption of minors – defendant age 18 or above and two counts of misdemeanor indecent assault forcible compulsion.

The incidents allegedly took place in May 2025.

The investigation, according to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, began in May 2025 when the State Police at Warren was contacted by the Emergency Room at the Clarion Hospital regarding a complaint from a 16-year-old girl who reported she had been sexually assaulted four days earlier. A trooper from the State Police at Clarion collected some information, saying she was staying at her grandmother’s home, where Martin lived. During a visit, Martin allegedly sexually assaulted the girl for roughly 1-2 hours. The State Police were notified a couple of days later after a report was received from the Forest Warren Human Services Department.

A forensic interview was held in June at the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center. Police weren’t present, but copies of the interview were given to the State Police at Warren. The interview detailed why the girl was at the Pleasant Township home where the abuse allegedly took place, a phone call with the girl’s mother and the details of Martin’s bedroom that included the sheets on the bed. The girl said she was allegedly watching a movie with Martin on his phone when the alleged abuse began.

“The defendant was contacted several times regarding this investigation,” the affidavit states. “Ultimately, on Jan. 12, 2026, I was notified by the defendant’s legal counsel that the defendant would not be providing a statement in the matter. On Jan. 12, 2026, this case was reviewed by the Warren County District Attorney’s Office, who recommended charges be filed in this matter.”
