School board committees to meet tonight
Further discussion of the Youngsville High School lease and the start of the district’s budget process is on the agenda for tonight’s Warren County School District committee meetings.
The Warren County School District will host a Committee of the Whole meeting at 6 p.m. today in the district’s central office building in Russell. The meeting will include a presentation by Heberlein & Falk, P.C. on the company’s audit of the school district’s finances for the year ending June 30, 2025. Discussion of the Youngsville High School lease will be updated, with the allowance for public comment to be made.
Board members will also discuss the purchase of new trigonometry and statistics textbooks at a cost of $33,048 from Pearson Education Inc., a waiver to host Remake Learning Day on May 10, application for 2025-2027 School Safety and Mental Health grants totaling $70,000 for the Warren County Career Center and $177,761 for the Warren County School District. The agenda also includes informational presentations on the district’s budget and budget timeline.
Positive happenings will be highlighted, with information about the physical plants and facilities; finance, personnel, athletics and co-curricular activities will follow. There is a new position request for an elementary instructor.
February 9, 2026 is the next board meeting date while the committee of the whole meeting will be on February 23.
Members of the public who want to comment can sign the Public Comment Roster at the door prior to the start of the meeting. It will ask for the speaker’s name, municipality and if the comment is an item on the meeting’s agenda for that evening or on an item that is another matter. There will be a time in which names will be called upon to participate in public comment, and priority will be given to those who wish to comment on agenda items.
