On Wednesday, state Senator Scott Hutchinson and state Representative Kathy Rapp visited the Living Independence for the Elderly of Northwestern Pennsylvania (LIFE-NWPA) Warren branch to learn more about the services it provides to older adults in the community.

LIFE is designed to help participants live independently while remaining in their own homes and communities. The program offers all-inclusive care tailored to meet each individual’s needs, allowing seniors to maintain their quality of life without the need for full-time residential care.

During the visit, professionals at LIFE-NWPA guided Hutchinson and Rapp on a tour of the Warren facility, explaining the wide range of services offered through the program. These services include daily activities, meals, transportation, physical therapy and medical care. The tour gave officials a behind-the-scenes look at how the program operates and how staff members support participants on a daily basis.

The officials asked questions and took time to speak directly with participants enrolled in the program. This interaction allowed them to hear firsthand how LIFE impacts the lives of local seniors.

“We are here to help our neighbors and serve the community that lives here,” said Robb McQuillan, Vice President of Operations of One Senior Care

The Warren LIFE-NWPA facility currently serves 110 participants.

While the organization has previously provided educational presentations and briefings to political officials, McQuillan noted that experiencing the program in person offers a deeper understanding of its value.

“Seeing the program firsthand gives representatives an opportunity to meet with the people they are having an impact on,” said McQuillan.

Senator Hutchinson expressed his appreciation for the program and its role in the community.

“This program helps individuals that need assistance but maybe not 24-7 service,” said Hutchinson. “It’s a way for a community to show compassion for those in need.”
