Council to consider Grant Application for 400 Block Streetscape Project

City Council will consider authorizing a multimodal transportation grant application during its meeting Monday evening. The grant program offers financial assistance to projects that enhance transportation-related assets within local communities.

For the upcoming funding cycle, the application will mirror the submission from the last few years and will again seek funding for the Pennsylvania West 400 Block Streetscape Project. This project builds upon the success of similar initiatives completed in the past, including the 300 Block Streetscape Project, which saw a positive outcome.

If the grant application is successful, the project will focus on installing new sidewalks, upgrading street lighting and repairing existing curbs.

Additional information and specific details regarding the 2026 application, including project scope and next steps, will be discussed at Monday’s meeting.

Council will also affirm the City’s 2026 contribution to the Warren County Transit Authority (TAWC). This annual contribution is used to match state funding and is included in the 2026 Municipal Budget.

Last year’s resolution affirming the 2025 contribution passed unanimously.

The meeting will feature a guest presentation by Krista Jee Baxter, owner of Healing Beauty. The local business, which opened in March of last year, offers beauty, cosmetic and personal care services.

Additional agenda items include updates from the Comprehensive Task Force, Riverfront Development, the Council of Governments and Warren Worx, as well as departmental reports from the Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Public Works and the Codes and Planning Department.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the second floor Council Chambers of the Municipal Building. This will be the Council’s first regular meeting of the new year.

Starting at $3.50/week.
