A local high school senior is at the heart of a growing community effort as residents rally to support Avery Dalrymple, an Eisenhower High School student facing a lengthy recovery following a recent car accident.

This weekend, Bent Run Brewing Company will host a two-day fundraiser aimed at helping Dalrymple and her family with expenses related to her care. The event, organized by brewery co-owner Denise Caudill, grew out of a previously scheduled community gathering but quickly became something much larger.

“My son goes to school with Avery,” Caudill said. “She’s going to have a long road, and every little bit makes a difference.”

The fundraiser is a result of Bent Run’s second “Ladies Day Sunday Fun Day,” an event featuring local women-owned businesses offering services such as hair styling, lash applications, spray tans and nail care. Caudill reached out to participating vendors, asking each to donate an item or service that could be auctioned off to benefit Dalrymple.

As news of the fundraiser spread, donations began pouring in from across the community. Students from the Warren County Career Center also joined the effort, creating items to contribute after their instructor learned about Dalrymple’s situation while visiting the brewery.

What began as a one-day effort expanded into a two-day Chinese auction, running from Saturday morning through Sunday night. Raffle tickets will be available at the brewery, with prices set at five tickets for $5 or 15 tickets for $10.

Caudill said the response highlights the strength of the Warren community, especially when a young person is in need.

“It takes a village. We all have to help and support each other,” Caudill said.

For those unable to attend the fundraiser, there are other ways to donate and show support. There will be a benefit during the Eisenhower boys basketball game on Feb. 13. Those looking to donate can also call (814) 730-1552.

“This community is amazing,” Caudill said. “It’s not the first time Warren County has come together for something like this.”

Further information on the fundraiser can be found on Bent Run’s Facebook.

Starting at $3.50/week.
